Understanding Oxygen Release from Nanoporous Perovskite Oxides and Its Effect on the Catalytic Oxidation of CH₄ and CO

The design of nanoporous perovskite oxides is considered an efficient strategy to develop performing, sustainable catalysts for the conversion methane. dependency nanoporosity on oxygen defect chemistry and catalytic activity toward CH4 CO oxidation was studied here. A novel colloidal synthesis route nanoporous, high-temperature stable SrTi0.65Fe0.35O3-δ with specific surface areas (SSA) ranging from 45 80 m2/g pore sizes 10 100 nm developed. High-temperature investigations by in situ synchrotron X-ray diffraction (XRD) TG-MS combined H2-TPR Mossbauer spectroscopy showed that porosity improved release diffusion, whereas lattice depended more state iron species strain effects materials. Regarding catalysis, light-off tests low-temperature significantly benefitted enhancement SSA, influenced dioxygen release. During isothermal long-term catalysis tests, however, continuous large SSA materials promoted both conversion. Hence, if maximization turned out efficiently improve applications, role reducible metal center concentration crystal structure cannot be completely ignored, as they also contribute properties.
